Need just the front part of a 550 brake caliper housing if anyone has one. Don’t need the internals  just the main housing the piston fits in.

Thanks.

The 2 pin connectors on the Oximizers are rubbish. I’ve had my Fireblade on trickle charge for the last 6 months and didn’t realise there was a bad connection on it so it didn’t maintain the battery.

Now I have a battery that’s dead and won’t charge because the bike alarm has drained it completely.

I’ve re wired the Oximizer with the parts from Amazon below, cable on the left just cut one end off and soldered it the the Oximizer pcb.
Way better connection.

Has anyone used the 2K rattle cans where you press the valve in the bottom to add the activator?

Was thinking about using them on my 550 frame.

On one of Allen Millyard’s videos on YouTube, he put carb bodies in a bucket of water mixed with alloy wheel cleaner.

Left them in for a few minutes until the water stopped fizzing and they came out pretty good.

I use caustic soda on the brass bits. Just a small amount in a cup of water for 10 minutes or so.

Do not use on aluminium.

Looks good to me - better than the flimsy  chromed thin metal original held on with  counter sunk cross head JIS screws. I've seen some aftermarket alloy ones as well at daft money.

Does it take the original gasket?

Not sure on the gasket, mine is missing. I’ll let you know when I get one.

My chrome points cover on my 550 is a bit rusty and new ones seem to have increased in price a fair bit.

Thought I’d see if my CB650 one fits which is cast aluminium and it fits perfectly.

Not for the purists but looks pretty good.

I ordered a set of 3 magnetic trays from Toolstation a couple of years ago. I don’t think they realised they were magnetic and I got 6.

When I did my 650 top end, with the rocker cover off and the plugs out I spun it over gently on a battery drill.
