Here we go people's, I have put twin disks on the bike with rebuilt caliper said and resavoir, new SS hoses and washers! I have bleed the system from top to bottom and vacuum bleed the calipers, also left over night with lever tied to handle! I can without any effort STILL touch the hanle bar with leaver.
Anyone got ideas how I can go from soft and spongey to hard?
Thanks Clive

Try adjusting the caliper's free play.

when I fitted a R/H disc,I found the pads were not square on the disc,
you need to align the caliper and disc as accuratly as possible,
as little as 1 mm difference between top and bottom, also front and back, will give a spongy lever

Hairygit locked up and backed off 1/2 turn.
Johnwelby both running true as far as I can see.

That actually sounds too much! Should be 6 thou clearance, which is 0.152mm, each half turn of the adjuster screw (m6x1) is 0.500mm, WAY too much!

Problem solved (I hope) just pulled callipers apart and one is weeping, so much for non OEM seal and piston new OEM one on way hope this fixes it!
Will post update when fixed.

Lesson to be learned there, NEVER buy anything but OE seals for brakes, your life depends on them! When you have fitted the replacements, adjust the calipers properly, and all should be well. ;D

Did you replace the master with one from a twin disc system eg goldwing?
