Hi, does anyone know if the rear brake drum can be relined as mines got a high spot with a crack in it (suspect rust between hub and liner) have been told it's bin fodder!
Thanks Clive

No way is it bin fodder, done mine myself but the guy in Huddersfield I belive does them cheaper than I could justify given what I can earn cutting peoples lawns and how long it takes me on the lathe I've currently got setup for it.

Just gave Paul Jackson a call and its fifty quid to reline drum which ain't too bad as they have too make liner, it sounded like it's not there fav job too do!
-
Thats very reasonable, mine needs doing soon too, liners getting a bit thin

He does them all the time but he has a problem finding the cast pipe of the size for 500/550 that's all
-
Is there anyone doing this job in London?

Back when the sadly missed Rod Gibson was editor of classic motorcycle mechanics magazine, he published Paul Jacksons details without beong paid for an advert because he reaconed Paul was the only one doing the job, though you might find an adventurous engineer willing to take it on. I've done a few for myself but wouldn't even try to compete with Paul Jacksons rate, takes too long with my little lathe. I'm sure it would be fine to post the wheel.
