As I've spent a number of years(and not to mention a small fortune ::)) building this bike as an early1970s  replica pro stock drag bike ,which means that it'll be loud and uncomfortable and totally unsuitable for the road as well as not being road legal(something that wouldn't have bothered me a few years ago ;D ;D)I won't have the luxury of being able to  take it down the road to check if everything is o.k ,
everything will have to be sorted out at home on the driveway ,in the workshop or at the track.

Thanks for the reply Phil  ;).
I guess what I was looking for something more specific ,something like a brand of oil which people on here have used succesfully .
I've been doing a bit of digging on the old interweb and come up with what looks like an ideal choice of10/40 mineral oil for my motor .
It's Miller Oils 10/40 mineral running in  oil .
I intend dropping the oil a couple of times after initial start up,and although this motor has cost me an arm and a leg to build ,the cost, suitability and availability of the Miller Oils stuff is looking good .
Cheers Greg "H"

I spoke to the guy today and he says that he can do it . However, he doesn't work weekends ( he works 8 till 5 weekdays only) which is a problem, as there is no way I can get there during the week :(. I'll have wait till the bits come through and then take a day off  :).

If you can post a photo of what you want doing, I can call in to Burtons and see if he will do it for you and a rough price. Its only about 1/2 mile from my house so its no problem.
Thanks mate . I meant to give him a ring today but forgot  ::) I'll ring him tomorrow ( Tue) .

Bryanj . I havn't had anything done yet cos the bits are on their way over from the states .

CB750 / F1 fork slider dimensions
« on: August 09, 2014, 10:07:38 AM »
Hi all  . I'm currently building up my F1 forks , but when I got round to fitting the new (11mm thick Honda) fork seals I noticed that the space between the bottom of the recess( which I'm assuming that the seal sits on in the top of the slider) and the groove in which the wire seal retaining clip sits in was too high up in the fork leg to hold the seal in place. As far as I'm aware my fork sliders are F1 parts , what do you think guys . Cheers Greg "H"

Hi , I Drag/Sprinted both 750 and 970 engined sohc Hondas fitted with those clear float bowls back in the late seventies early eighties . I remember that they went slightly yellowish ,but they stood up well considering the number of times they were taken on and off for jet changes etc . They eventually got sold mounted on a set of overbored stock carbs , which I wish I'd never sold  ::).
