CB750 / Clutch noise
« on: May 19, 2012, 11:10:02 PM »
Hello, finally completed rebuild of my K2. All is good apart from slight graunchy noise when I pull in the clutch. Is it likely to be a bearing? If so, is it an engine out job? :(

Thanks - you were right. It appears that the outer part of the old bush had seized and hadn't been removed. Difficult to spot, so thanks for the tip. Cheers. Pete

CB750 / Rear suspension lower bush
« on: October 02, 2011, 10:04:38 PM »
Hi, have just had my frame and swinging arm re-sprayed and decided to fit new bushes in the swing arm for the rear suspension units. But the new replacements seem to be too large to go in - have made sure the holes in the swing arm are clean, and the bushes are the right part number. But they still won't go in - do they need heat or pressing in? Any help/advice appreciated. Cheers. Pete

Thanks for the advice. My local motorcycle frame engineering place has drilled out and fitted a high tensile bolt. According to them, it will be stronger than the other side! lets hope so. Cheers. Pete

CB750 / Help! - Rear Suspension Frame Mount
« on: March 29, 2011, 09:33:24 PM »
Help, I could do with some advice - just sheared the mounting threaded stud on the frame where the top of the rear suspension connects. I'm assuming I'll have to drill out, helicoil and fit a new stud/bolt - does that sound right? will it be strong enough? Any advice gratefully received. Cheers
