I've spoken to a few owners at bike meets and they're well spoken of.  The only thing I'd change, for the moment anyway,  is the deplorable looking seat.

In a previous job I repaired vacuum cleaners.  The lithium batteries in them failed after 4-5 years.  Not too bad with a Dyson,  replacements are £30 but GTech ones are £112.  I had a big bin of duff lithium batteries and looked into recycling them - hopefully for cash.
They're not recyclable and neither are car batteries.

My mum worked as a wages clerk at Corona and got me a temporary job which lasted 9 months.  I worked on the syrup room making up the ingredients that went into the pop. Something like 3100 litres of sugar syrup, 30 litre artificial flavourings, citric acid (which rotted my bike boots) sodium citrate,  sodium benzoate, E211, E110 etc and made up to 6000 litres with water.  The first pop I ever made was Cherryade, which I'm not a fan of.  The fitters used to come in to the syrup room to scrounge the odd litre of syrup in exchange for a handful of stainless nuts and bolts.  Before long, I had replaced most of the fasteners on my 550four with stainless.  Happy times working there.

I will.
I'm still keeping the 400four but I've sold the Kawasaki GPZ500S.

I've never had a new bike or a new car for that matter.  I've had plenty of new vans and an Escort estate but they weren't mine.
I've paid the deposit on a Royal Enfield Interceptor,  a brant new one with sod all on the clock and having a personalised plate.  I've got to wait three bloody weeks for those muppets at M&P to PDI it.  We'll worth the wait though.

The Superdream started off with a kick-start and was then deleted.   A bad move in my opinion.

« on: May 05, 2022, 03:32:07 PM »
On my GS1000  I had a car type holder on the inside of the fairing.   One day it blew away while I was storming down the hill at well over 100 mph  late as usual.  Because there was only a few days to go until it expired, I didn't worry about it.
A few days later, doing well over 100 again,  I got pulled over.  Because there was no tax disc the cops done me for that and not the speeding.
After a visit to the LVLO, I could confirm that I had taxed the bike and got away with it.

How are you going to mount that anywhere?   It hasn't got a bracket.

Went on a great rideout with the bike club.  14 of us in total and did 131 miles.  I needed that.

You're better off using a strobe timing light, you can get it set up very accurately.

I bought a set of hole punches to make the holes. Best to use a bit of ply or hardwood to punch against.

Went on a rideout last weekend with the bike club and some MAG types. Only about 80 miles but good fun.  The dreaded misfire, which I had forgotten about, has resurfaced.  1 and 4 cut out intermittently,  sometimes for a few miles.  It's got a Dyna S ignition system which, up to lady year has been good.  Dyna don't sell individual pickups but I've tracked down a system on fleabay for about £50 that's fits a Suzuki which I'll make fit.
My other bike,  the GPZ500S,  hasn't run for 7 months because I've been too busy with work, building my car port, then the weather turned shite.
Anyway,  I put fresh juice in it and after ½ minute of cranking, it started up.  It hadn't been trickle charged or anything, the Motobatt held a good charge over the winter.  Dead impressed with that.

The point is, most crashes are caused by bad driving.  Driving too close to the car in front, inappropriate use of speed for the conditions, driving while texting etc.
A fully automated car will drive a lot better than most of the numpties on the roads

The US ones were chromed whereas the GB ones were painted black
