Title: project threads.
Post by: dellenty1234 on April 27, 2015, 08:26:24 PM
On previous forums i have been with, there has always been a section dedicated to peoples projects/stories etc.

Just allows easy access to anybody wanting to look through somebody's build.

Now am i being blind, or does such thing not exist on here? Something to consider maybe?

Ash - it depends upon how long you want the "Home" page to be.

Ash - it depends upon how long you want the "Home" page to be.

They have an option 'New posts' and there are several pages of them. It's just that if you say go on holiday for a week with no Internet access, you can miss out on new posts unless you check through every section.

You should use "Show unread posts since last visit" for that.

I think for a site of this nature a longer homepage is no problem for me. I think generally now people are much more used to scrolling than before. so content below the 'fold' of the screen is fine with me...

I've stretched the section from 10 to 15 posts and adjusted some of the sidebars to match.

Ash, what I do is read all the new posts then click on the "Forum" tag at the top and iy high lights all the sections with posts you haven't read

If everybody is in agreement that's great. I would love to have my own thread where i can publish my progress no matter how big or little! And without taking up room on the discussion board and the need to search would be a large advantage to all.

I look forward to the development of this!?

It's already started...:-) not sure if the threads are showing up on the homepage but the Project section is now there. Thanks SteveD for implementing this...

Okay I give in. How do you move a thread to the new section? :-[ ???

Sorry. My mistake. Only admin can move a thread.

I guess I could give you all "Move thread" permissions but that may be a little dangerous  ::)

Just post here or drop me a PM and I'll do it.
