Thanks Bryan, I've got an original style globe type bulb fitted currently

Thanks Skoti, that looks the best and easiest option.  Mine must be missing a retaining clip or something for there to be an oil seal used to hold the P45T bulb in.

One last question, did you use a 4300k bulb? 6000k might be a bit blue?

I was more wondering I could retain this reflector but retro fit an H4 led Ted

Is a CB550 and 750 reflector the same? Mine on my 550 is a Stanley 001-1217 but a previous owner has fitted a strange bulb that has meant they've used an oil seal to hold it in place.  Can I retro fit an H4 Led to it?

Retracing my steps paid off, when I've fitted new headlight brackets they mount onto plastic bushes so I had a break in the earth.  Moving the ground wires to some spare plugs fixed it!

Have you tried switching the front bulbs with the rear?

Tested the front bulb holders using a test lamp?

I think I'll try this today Ted, I'll plug in an original lamp first.  They were working before so with checking again before I go any further

The new indicators are two wire, I've tried them in just about every combination but can't get them to work on th front, the rears are fine however.  I've fitted a new relay to run leds as well

Good bit of Metalwork there Dom - always a nice feeling to make something yourself.

Thanks Ted!  Do you know if I'm barking up the right tree with my led's as I think you've done similar?  Currently the fronts won't light up at all.

Bit of an update, made up a gauge and ignition brackets out of 2mm steel bent in a vice with lots of mapp gas, lots of hacksawing and even more filing.  Really happy with the results!

I've fitted led indicators to both front and rear of my 550, the two wire rears work perfectly but I'm having a few issues with the fronts, that is they don't work at all.  Now I think this is due to their three wire set up, I should mention at this point that I also have a new Koso gauge so therefore an led dash indicator.  Am I correct in saying I need to fit diodes and reco figure the current 3 wire configuration?

Great news Ted, I'm not far off getting mine on the road now, just some small tweaks and cosmetics.

I'm trying to fit my new Koso multifunction gauge and daytona speed sensor but have cone across a few queries.  First one, is there a permanent live in the headlight I can tap power from?

The three wires from the speed sensor don't correspond with the three from the gauge, they must be live signal and earth I presume but I've no way of knowing which is which on the koso side so any way of finding out would be great.

Then there is the rpm signal that I'm getting from the coil, the instructions are so confusing I don't understand what I'm meant to be doing here at all.
