Something completely different... what to you think about early GSX-R?
I always loved that rough, pure sports look of the early ones. Milestone and worth collecting it?
What are the prizes in UK for genuine (are there any?), reasonable examples?
Found that add, just about 60miles from where I live.

I like the early GSX-R but you would be hard pushed to find a nice original one with the original exhaust

At 3000 euros I would buy it. Slabbie Suzuki's are going through the roof at the moment. There a first class bike but the spares prices are heavy. They are also part of the official Suzuki old parts program so bits are easy to get, but as I say there expensive. Good find though Uli.

Prefer the slightly later models, a bit more visually pleasing to my eye, but there is nothing wrong with the old slabbie's.

Found an early GSXR 1100 as well.
What would you go for, 750 or 1100 with an collectors view?

As Roy said, the market for these bikes will go bonkers and has started going nuts. Both look very well looked after examples and in the right colours also. Personally if you can see both bikes I would and buy the best out of the two of them, as parts are crazy mad expensive and if you want top dollar when you sell its has to be original replacement parts only used on them. Buy it, leave it in warm dry place for a couple of years, ride it also To enjoy it, you won't lose money. Leave the prestigious best examples to the experts and too much money collectors for crate examples. Lovely bikes thro.

This was £1100 nov 2016. Non runner and quite a mess. A mates bike.

The 750 above in the add is second version with longer swingsrm and modified fairing.

Bike is sitting in the garage since 2009. So needs more or less evrything serviced, tyres , brakes...
Lots of cracks and sratches in the plastic parts. Not running, has 1100 carbs (750 carbs are there) but just pluged in.
If it were the first version I would ganble. Pass this one.

In the meantime, checked out a Suzuki GT550, priced at EUR 3.700.
Found a resto-basis that would need everything done including paint, chrome and one damaged pipe.
Bought a 1978 R100/7 on the phone.
Sent a down payment via paypal.
Will have to organize a carrier that pics her up from Northern Germany and then will see what I bought.
Will have sell my ZRX1200R if she´a keeper.
One bikes come, one must go. These are the rules, for wife´s sake.

Blimey Uli you have a diverse taste in bikes. Straight from a GSXR1100 to an R100/7. Like it. 8)

I love most of the 70th bikes.
Had a R75/6 some years ago, shouldnt have sold her.

I bought her from the executor.
I guess she’s been restored years ago.

when I first visited the I O M in 1970,not only were Honda CB750 very new,but BMW had just brought out the R75/5 ( I think)
