Title: Losing members ... (not body parts)
Post by: AshimotoK0 on October 19, 2014, 10:07:27 AM
Sounds like bike-pusher Neil is no longer a member on here. I suppose I probably was partly responsible for this as I commented on my feelings on parting  out good bikes and selling small parts in auctions in 'bidding wars' for large sums. If you ever read this Neil it was nothing personal, we all have our own opinions/stance on things and I personally  thank you for the contributions you made. Also a few people were in for buying parts off the CB750K5 he is breaking and hope I did not sour it for any of you. If I did then all I can do is apologize.

Cheers ... Ash

People come and people go. I don't worry about it anymore.

As long as the current active members are happy, I can live without someone who wanted to sell stuff here but wasn't prepared to sponsor a "low traffic site"

I think you summed it up quite well there Steve. Plus, if people can't handle a bit of banter and leg pulling, they should buy a modern bike and leave us to our non pc fun!>:D

What I do know is the I in I phone/pad stands for idiot! I mean, you can buy a mobile that does everything an I phone does, and more besides, for less than a quarter of the price, same with tablets vs the I pad. I saw a documentry recently where misguided sheep waited all night outside a shop in London, just to buy the latest I phone5, and apple admitted the only difference between that and the previous model was the colour!:o

With you on this one Hairy. I get a ton of messages every day and, at the end it says: "sent from my I phone". I don't think when i send out a message it say at the end: "sent from my £30 phone that does the same job".
All i know is my phone is linked to my home computer. So anything i send is recorded through that.

HM300's are the original exhausts for the CB750K0 and K1 , HM 341 's are K2 onwards to K6. The 300 designation was for parts for the CB750 so many parts have middle number -300-

Yea my wife saw a .jpg photo named 'nipples' on my desktop and thought I was up to no good ::) It was of a spoke nipple I had re-plated.

Cheers Ash

Your 400/4 exhaust is HM377 part no. BTW Julie

Jokeing aside, you all know sooooo much about these old bikes, its like having Hondawikipedia at my finger tips. If you need any expert advice on Joint Replacements ( ie, hips, knees, shoulders etc, not the other sort of joints  ;)) then maybe I can be of use :-* :-*

It's the type of joint that some may need at the end of a very long hard day. Not that us Nurses are into anything like that, much !! Whilst your on Trig, my tyres keep going down, they loose about 6-8 psi between each ride. Im assuming they have got tubes in them, iv'e checked the valves and they all seem OK. Is there a chance they tubeless ?
Title: Re: Losing members ... (not body parts)
Post by: Trigger on October 20, 2014, 09:52:05 PM
Can't be with out tube with spoked wheels. Must be a valve or very slow puncher. Does this happen to both tyres???
Title: Re: Losing members ... (not body parts)
Post by: Nurse Julie on October 20, 2014, 09:58:07 PM
Yes both Tyres. I usually have 26 front and 30 rear, checked them b4 i went out today, front down to 20, rear down to 24 and thats after only 4 days standing.
Title: Re: Losing members ... (not body parts)
Post by: K2-K6 on October 20, 2014, 10:03:06 PM
Depends how long between rides i suppose ;)

Usually you'd have to change the tubes if they are going down, couple of psi drop over a month would be something like normal.

By the way Julie, I've had a couple of family in hospital on and off over the last few years and I'm just amazed at the staff there. A hard job done brilliantly by so many people, and really so much appreciated.
Title: Re: Losing members ... (not body parts)
Post by: Trigger on October 20, 2014, 10:07:52 PM
Try changing the valves. The valve has a little rubber o'ring that leaks when old. If no luck with that, then change the inner tubes. What happens is people change the tyres without changing the tubes. So, hard to tell how old the tubes are but, valves first.
Not sure what size tyres you have on but, i would push them up a bit to 28 in the front and 34 in the rear if you have standard size tyres on.

Tube and valve change over the winter then !!
We do try very hard to do the best for our patients K2-K6 and we do know that a majority of our patients and their families are very appreciative. Unfortunately, these days as Nurses, we can't do right for doing wrong. Spend too much time and energy giving the patient what they need and we are told we are not 'cost effective'......hayho, happens everywhere i suppose
