Title: CR carbs for the CB750
Post by: captaink on April 19, 2017, 05:20:59 AM
Hi, I was looking for suggestions for CR carbs for my CR750 replica.
Engine is 1977 836cc big bore kit but standard cam.
How would they perform as compared to the original carbs performance wise although I'm not looking for more speed they would be cosmetic.
Is there a CR carb model range ?
Regards Keith

As I remember CR carbs there is NO tickover provision and they are a pain to tune correctly

I've looked into this question - theres a lot of info on the .net site - I concluded that unless your using the bike for racing (constant high revs), they don't work well at lower/middle rev range. If you are using the bike on the road (like I will be), with the cr replica exhausts fitted, you won't be riding at constant high revs - have a listen to the sound level at high revs and you will see why I say that - great sound but not for too long!

My other CR replica has CR carbs and seems to run ok but the bike is an animal to ride, 4000 rpm tickover and the through pipes are a ear defender job.
Not something as a daily ride  ;D ;D
