Hi, please can you help, as I have a 1980 Honda Britain, sadly I am looking to sell it after 21 years. There is no mention on the log book of 'Britain' do you know how they distinguish a Phil Read Rep from a Britain? Also how do you verify it is a Britain...Cheers Ken.

Welcome to the forum Ken. Sorry to hear you're selling and I definitely can't answer your query but there are forum members who own what you have, hopefully one will be along soon to help you. I'm sure there is a forum member that keeps the 'Britain' register.
Edit....I have remembered who keeps the register and have sent him a Personal message, hopefully he will respond.

hello mate, i have a britain and a read rep, both in the process of being restored. the phil read rep is the red/blue/white version and the britain is all white with either a red or blue stripe. the tank on the britain is more rounded than the prr which has a ridge along the bottom of it on both sides. the log books do not state that they are any different to a standard 750-4. i would post some pics but photobucket is being stupid.

Welcome Ken - You will get a definitive answer shortly I guess but as the PRR was before the Britain, I would guess yours is a Britain if registered in 1980

Hi Ken,
I have a PRR.
There are a number of differences with the Honda Britain, some of which have been highlighted already. They were marketed at the time as the '750SS' after Honda pulled out of the project, leaving Colin Seeley to do his own thing.
This website and the chap who runs it may prove helpful - http://www.cb750f2hondabritainoc.co.uk/
