Hi all,
Just sold my modern bike, and bought a 1977 CB400F.
The bike was restored by the previous owner in 1989, but it hasn't been ridden since, It sort of runs, I've got to sort carbs, front brake, a service and possibly some tyres and then it's back on the road.

Welcome, Great choice of M/cycle. You'll not regret it. Enjoy.

Welcome to the forum from another 400four owner. Us 400 lads are taking over, so we'll have to have a rethink on the site name.
You've started off on the right foot by posting a bic of your bike. It looks in good nick but if you need any advice, that's what we're here for.

Hi and welcome, I was born and bred in East Sussex, but it became a very unpleasant and violent place, so I moved to rural Devon. It looks like your rear wheel spindle is fitted the wrong way, the nut should be on the exhaust side to make the spindle easy to get out, although the pic isn't that clear in that area!

Where on earth was the 'violent' place hairy???

welcome to the "fun" forum !!
you will enjoy the banter ,chat and advice aplenty,

If I remember correctly Rich, it was Hastings.
-
Really!!! I'm surprised.

Ask king harold....bet he wished he never went
-
20 years driving buses around there, we saw horrendous things going on, especially in the evenings. Drunks, druggies, and just generally obnoxious people who would threaten drivers with a dirty syringe to try and rob them, not the town I grew up in that's for sure!

😁😁😁😁😁

That's what happens if you let the Normans be in charge.
-
I'm sure the pub I used to frequent in Hastings was called the Norman......or was it the Nelson?
-
There was the Nelson in the old town, and the Norman arms in St Leonard's, although the Carlisle on the seafront was the "Bikers" pub.

It would have been the Nelson , I can remember going to the Carlisle as well but not as often as I went to the Nelson.
-
Lets hope the new member doesn't live in Hastings then
or maybe we wont see him again after the previous posts ::) ;D ;D
-
Or his bike will get nicked and he'll have no reason to be here, some scumbag stole the front caliper from my 750F1 in a seafront car park in broad daylight a few years back!

Bit harsh, my dad was named Norman, don't think he ever went to Hastings though.
-
Not Hastings but near to Newhaven, Hastings did receive some bad press a while back, it has a certain charm and is a shadow of it's previous self.
Thanks yes the Spindle is in the wrong way....
