Just been watching dear old Henry Cole's Shed and Buried telly programme. They were featuring a bike collection at Craven Garage near York. Loads of bikes / looks good - is it? Anyone been?

I enjoy Henry
but never been to Craven
is that the guy that did panniers and fairings?? was it Ken Craven? he did lots of bike rides

Always meant to go there but never got round to it. My mate where I used to work went there and said is was worth visiting. Think it's Dick cravens private collection.

From what the programme said he still drag races an old velo or something in his 70's. Just a collectorholic otherwise it would seem.

Craven carriers and luggage used to be in London then moved down Hereford way but haven't heard of them for years
-
My Brother an I always had Craven stuff on out bikes.
My brother was going touring on his 500/4 and heading North through East London
and one of his pannier lids came off and got run over ,he was passing Craven's and
called in and they fitted a new one FOC :)
Craven is still going, I'm restoring a rack and Panniers to go on my 500 (don't scream at me)
-
Don't think it's the same Craven though !

Its def worth a look round.. a group of us from the 2 stroke forum went there a few years ago, iirc one of my 2stroke pals organised an open day for a group of us to visit... otherwise its only open on certain days. The place is untidy like an old used workshop, its big with loads of bikes and tons of other motoring memorabilia stacked all over the place... oil cans, signposts..etc.. my main recollection is the few nice vincents he has in there...

Not the Craven collection, however Craven Luggage is now distributed by Draganfly Motorcycles in Bungay, Suffolk.
I spoke to them on the telephone last week and they have a rack and fitting kit for the CB750 available, although not the CB500 as yet. As I would like to replace the rack on both of mine, I am due down there to collect a kit for the 750 and will take the 500 which they are going to measure up so that they can produce the brackets in the correct sizes for it.
This might, perhaps interest others?,

When I used to deal direct with craven most of the racks were the same with just different fitting kits for the actual bike, until the 750 F1 came along then they made a hinging top as the seat was so long

The only Draganfly Motorcycles that I (Google) could find are in N London.

They also do these:

Interesting.
Google says they are in Cockfosters but their website says Bungay.
