Title: Brake lever rubber tip
Post by: jon stead on December 13, 2017, 11:46:08 AM
Anybody got any tips for fitting the little rubber cover that goes on the end of the brake or clutch lever?

I’ve had it in a cup of boiled water, tried stretching it apart with a pair of needle nosed pliers whilst trying to ease it over the end of the lever, but failing miserably.

All what you're doing but a little bit of silicone spray on the inside helps.

If you want them stuck as well you can use tyre repair rubber glue on them. Slosh a good bit inside and get it on fast.

You gotta be real quick and sneak up on them so they don't see you approaching   ;D

Thanks Julie and K2-K6. Got there in the end. Took brake lever off and set it at a better angle in the vice. Persevered with a bit of Vaseline and the needle nose pliers. On now and looks good.
