Found I have decent quality makes (Hall,Presto ect) of M10x1.5 & M10x1.0 dies but not M10x1.25 GRR! Basically I have quite a few Honda fasteners to cut down for my CB72 and CB450K0 and thread.
RGP750 suggested these people which may be OK ... anyone else recommend a decent source at 'reasonable' money & up to the job?

Tracy Tools supply good quality stuff.
I have bought a few items from them and have always been pleased with their service, and the quality of the parts I have bought.
If you call them to clarify or discuss their products, they are very helpful.

My father taught me that if you're cutting the length of bolts or screws down you can do without a die if you're careful. Wind 2 nuts up the screw to above where you need to cut, tighten them together enough to lock. The nuts help to hold the screw in the vice when clamped. After cutting off the extra length, carefully file the burr off the end and then unwind the nuts off the screw. They 'clean' the thread end as they come off. Works a treat. Any last tidying can be done with a needle file.

The link you have posted shows a "taper tap CS" Do not buy CS taps or dies if you have a lot to do or are threading stainless or high tensile fasteners (12.9). Only the HSS will last.

HSS are on the drop down Tomb

I saw those but worried Ash was going to buy CS as he was asking about "reasonable money" and may be tempted by CS cheapness, false economy if doing lots of work, they won't last.

I bought one from this place and very reasonable price and free delivery . Used in anger yesterday but with lots of cutting compound applied, making CB72 engine mounting bolts and it worked fine. Thanks for all the advice.

I did look at Cromwell and we use them at work all of the time but for a 1-off DIY job a bit pricey and the linked one off eBay look good quality and worked fine. I will probably never use it again or if so on the very odd occasion
