CB750 / Re: Opinions Please

Thanks for all the feedback.

The frame and engine numbers start with 230...... so fit in with being a K4. It has 3 vertical bracing fins in the cylinder head and the fuel tap is on the RHS. Not sure why it's P reg but it certainly seems to be a K4 model. Are the incorrect parts mentioned (rear  bar and front indicator mounts) readily available without spending a kings ransom ?

Cheers Steve

I'm not too bothered by the colour of the number plate or it's legality !!

I am interested on opinions and advice on the rest of the bike, and, as has been stated , it is strong money and the seller will not move much from his asking price. I have looked at a couple of others, but to be honest none were in as good condition as this one for the money. This would appear to need nothing spending on it for a while once the missfire has been sorted which the seller says he will rectify. Except for a chip in one of the side panels, the paintwork looks excellent, the frame is pretty unmarked, the chrome is very good, the clocks are very good, the seat is as new. It has the tool kit etc under the seat and everything works.

It is a local bike and I know it has had very little use in the last 3-4 years. This guy has recommisioned the bike to ready it for sale. It has very little history with it unfortunately.

First of all , apologies if I've put this in the wrong forum !

Could those of you that know more about CB750's (i.e. all of you) give your considered opinion on the bike in this advert.

I have seen it and ridden it. It looks very tidy,  but has a flat spot at between 3 -4 thousand revs when you open it up. It also has (immaculate ) Takasago wheel rims when they should be DID surely? All advice and comments appreciated as I am looking to get a CB750. My current collection is all Zeds.

Hi Steve. I'm down in Woosehill.  Z1-B gets regular runs....was out at Pinewood last night.  Pretty good turnout, maybe 30 plus bikes while I was there. I've been offered a 750k4 at top money. It has been restored by John Wyatt at some time and is very tidy. When I test rode it it had a huge flat spot when I opened it up. The seller is trying to correct this before I go further.

CB750 / Flat Spot

Hi, I'm a newbie on here so go easy!! I currently have 4 old Zeds but would like to add a CB750 to my collection.

I have been offered a 1975 CB750K4 which was apparently restored some time ago by John Wyatt. It's in very nice condition but has a large flat spot at just below 3000rpm to about 4000rpm. Either side of this , it runs nicely. Ive left it with the seller to try to sort this.
My question is , is this likely to be something simple in the carb settings or could it be caused by a serious issue?

Another question.....this bike has Takasago  rims (same as my old Zeds). Are these normal fitment as I thought CB's came with DID rims ?

Any other advice gratefully received as my knowledge of the 750 is limited.

Cheers Steve

Hi ,

My name is Steve (wheelysteve) and I live in Wokingham Berks.

I currently have 3 Z1"s a couple of Z650's and a Honda Blackbird.

I am looking to add a CB750K to my collection but  have to admit I don't know too much about them so I joined the forum !!

Please treat me gently when I ask daft/obvious questions !!

Looking forward to lots of help and a bit of banter.

Steve
