CB750 / Opinions Please
« on: April 24, 2017, 07:52:25 PM »
First of all , apologies if I've put this in the wrong forum !

Could those of you that know more about CB750's (i.e. all of you) give your considered opinion on the bike in this advert.

I have seen it and ridden it. It looks very tidy,  but has a flat spot at between 3 -4 thousand revs when you open it up. It also has (immaculate ) Takasago wheel rims when they should be DID surely? All advice and comments appreciated as I am looking to get a CB750. My current collection is all Zeds.

CB750 / Flat Spot

Hi, I'm a newbie on here so go easy!! I currently have 4 old Zeds but would like to add a CB750 to my collection.

I have been offered a 1975 CB750K4 which was apparently restored some time ago by John Wyatt. It's in very nice condition but has a large flat spot at just below 3000rpm to about 4000rpm. Either side of this , it runs nicely. Ive left it with the seller to try to sort this.
My question is , is this likely to be something simple in the carb settings or could it be caused by a serious issue?

Another question.....this bike has Takasago  rims (same as my old Zeds). Are these normal fitment as I thought CB's came with DID rims ?

Any other advice gratefully received as my knowledge of the 750 is limited.

Cheers Steve

Hi ,

My name is Steve (wheelysteve) and I live in Wokingham Berks.

I currently have 3 Z1"s a couple of Z650's and a Honda Blackbird.

I am looking to add a CB750K to my collection but  have to admit I don't know too much about them so I joined the forum !!

Please treat me gently when I ask daft/obvious questions !!

Looking forward to lots of help and a bit of banter.

Steve
