CB350/400 / CB400F Performance upgrades
« on: June 01, 2017, 11:28:51 AM »
I have a custom CB400F '77 Cafe Racer. Its got most basic upgrades and runs great. The engine is stock, and in good condition, but I have an aftermarket exhaust and the carbs have been rejetted to match.

I'm thinking about squeezing a bit more out so my thoughts have turned to Big Bore kits, carb upgrades and Yoshi exhaust.
But all this stuff is super expensive now. There used to be good, cheap alternatives on Ebay but now it seems only the proper Yoshi stuff is around. Anyone have any tips, or stuff for sale?

The CB400F is a little ripper already. I would leave it as is unless upgrades are reasonbly priced. £700+ for big bore kit, and the same for Yoshi exhaust does not strike me as bang for my buck (Performance Parts). I cant even find the uprated carbs for sale anywhere, though a few years back they were available.

Thoughts and experience from the pros here is what I need!  :o

Hi guys,

Just introducing myself and my awesome bike that I can take little to no credit for!
Im from Colchester and commisonned my bike from Sam Evans at Inlglorious Motorcycles in Birch. Its a thing of beauty (unless you prefer them stock) made from a £600 barn find. You'll find me over Great Bentley on a Wednesday or Krazy Horse events.

The bike itself is a '77 CB400F gone full Cafe Racer with new seat and looped frame, rebuilt engine, all new wiring from a Motogadet M-Unit into electronic ignition and LED lighting @ bates headlight, paint by Black Shuck Custom and new exhaust. Theres a ton of other mods but thats the jist of it. Its now sitting on Hagon rear shocks, Hyperpro replacement springs in the front and stainless spokes not shown on these pics.

Currently joining up here as intrested in a bit of feedback on potentially fitting a big bore kit and Yoshi exhaust. [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]
