Hi
I want to custom another cb 550 but this one that i have found is a K0 with a 4/4 fitted, but I want a 4/1, can I just fit one or do i need to make some mods?
Thank you in advance

I've fitted a new calliper, new piston, new seal and new shoes so I know the piston is all the way back I've also fitted it without the spring loaded adjuster bolt to ensure it isn't that. It really does appear that the pads are just to thick?

Hi all
I am in the process of rebuilding the front braking system on a 550f I have purchased everything new from David silvers but for some reason the pads appear to thick I.e when I tighten up the two large calliper bolts then the pads lock tight on the disc so it won't turn Anyone got any ideas of what I'm doing wrong.
Cheers stuart

Thanks for that, just a "wipe on, wipe off" of standard grease?

Hi all
I recently bought a replacement front brake calliper for my 550 It came with the piston and seals all separate, along with the seal is apparently a dust seal, basically looks like a thinner version of the seal itself. Can any one tell me where this goes please? It won't fit into the groove with the seal and if I put it on the exposed part of the piston then it won't be any use at all once I've applied the brake once
Any help greatly appreciated!
Thanks stuart

Dear all
Sorry if this is a stupid question but do I need to put any gasket sealant on the block base gasket?
Thank you in advance

Hi all,
I'm in the process of refurbing/customising a 1976 CB550f and have never ridden the bike but during works I have realised that the centre stand whilst n the up position hits the chain, this has clearly been happening for a while as its worn a groove into the stand.
My question is - what does it normally stop on to ensure this doesn't happen?
There doesn't appear to be a "stop"
Many thanks Stuart
