Well done Pete but I did like the look of your white one.
I did too Julie, but unfortunately they don't do the RS in Crystal white,
I adore the speed triple but made the mistake of taking out the Street when I was in getting the bike it's Mot,,it was love as soon as I moved off, everything just felt right,, and the quickshifter works seamlessly, I didn't get it until I tried it.weather permitting I'm even getting the train to staffordshire triumph and riding it back to Scotland, that's me done my yearly mileage in one go :-)

My 2019 speed triple was picked up by the superbike factory, agreed price paid with no quibbling, money paid instantly into the account £1300 more than my local triumph dealer offered.
Placed an order for a new street RS,hopefully early September delivery.:-)

Might look better without the horrible matte paint,,
Looks like the boring cb650r I owned ,briefly, before I grew tired of the gutless engine and bland looks, speed triple got me smiling again.😁

Some people disagree but i have always had good service from him, buy the kit with the seal and clean the seal groove out meticulously

I too have had parts from "Honda Classics" without problems & delivered quickly - I think it's the  restoration side of the business where they fall well short of any sort of perfection. It might be they were good at restoration in the past but Peter's (teenybop1) recent experience illustrates how far that side of the business has slipped.

Like my Dad used to say a workshops reputation is only as good as its worst mechanic.
That is probably why good bike restorers tend to be one man bands who guard their repuaution that takes years for them to build & why they often become  expensive.
100% correct Ted, clearly whoever done the restoration side has left the business, leaving a parts man/marketing guy to attempt to provide a service. And failing miserably.its a handy shop to pick up parts, before a new owner steps into the driving seat, ps, shop isn't failing, owner just wishes to retire  :P
If anyone has ever had them do any restoration work within the past 3years or so, it would be interesting to hear about their experiences. They do claim to be a restoration specialist after all. A full report on the condition of my bike on return, was provided by the skilled engineer who sorted it out properly, and is available to view. I believe honda classics no longer accept restoration work, due to the impending sale. I wish any new owner the best of luck.

I've just had my 400 4 returned to me after nearly 3years of refurbishment,(2 years wasted). butchered boyer system ditched and it's back to the original points system. It will be spring before I get to test it properly though. Waited this long so another couple of months won't hurt.

I've just found the old /original speedo from my 400 four in a box of bits, no inner KPH markings. It's a 1977 reg bike.

True story of the standard of work that has been done by a so called restoration specialist,, ps, just been informed that the offer to pay for any substandard work found has been removed, seems I'm making a mountain out of a molehill. And his lawyer is looking into my claims, hopefully his lawyer is checking Instagram and the mess that's needing sorted.
