CB750 / Clear VHT paint

Hi All,

My F2's engine is basically disassemble now. I've now started to strip off the old black paint off the the engine casing and was wondering what I should use the repaint the casing with. I was thinking about keeping it looking unpainted by using something like Clear VHT paint? Is this any good, or could you suggest something better?

CB750 / Can't removal rotor

Not sure if I've missed something or I just need to continue to persist with what I'm doing?

I've screwed in the rotor pull tool as tight as I can, hit it the end of it with a hammer and repeated this for the last couple of hours but the rotor still doesn't want to come off.

This is on a cb750f2 1977 supersport if that makes any difference?

CB750 / 64mm Piston rings

Hi,

I'm very slowly rebuilding my 1977 F2. I had a phone call from the machine shop advising that the new piston rings are to small and I need 64mm.

So if I have researched correctly the bike has had a 812 big bore kit fitted at some point. Does anyone know where I can buy 64mm piston rings from? I did read that the cb350 piston rings would work, is the any truth in this?

CB750 / Cylinder head removed

I am working towards doing a full rebuild and repainting of my engine. Currently the cylinder head is off and I am looking for some direction and advice please.

I assume I need to fully remove the valve stems from the guides, and if so how do I do this? I assume this is required to fully inspect the condition of them?

Then what is my best method to clean, decoke, and then also the preparation of the exterior surface for painting?

Hi,

I live near Reading and brought a none running CB750 Super sport 1977 last year. I've just undertaken doing my first full rebuild/restore. The engine is now out and I've started striping it to assess the state of it, which appears to be ok at the moment.
