Post by: Tomb on October 26, 2016, 08:13:15 PM
Anyone have experience of these headers?

Are they any good?

Please excuse me for crashing your thread, but on a slightly related subject I am looking for a set of four standard down pipes for a CB500/4.  By downpipes I mean the exhaust minus the silencers. If a full set is asking too much the one for cylinder four (outside right) would be very acceptable.

Hi Rob
I have a complete pipewith hokey silencer but can't remember which pipe it is for. I'll take a look as soon as I can and let you know

What silencers can fit with the Delkevic headers? I looked at these the other day as I have a motad system on at the moment and it's not noisy enough for me.

If you look through the listings that Delkevic have on fleabay you'll see they sell complete systems that include the silencer (or loudencer as I like to call them ;D)

I'm not sure how loud the Delkevic silencers are. I too like a bit of sound so make my own complete systems and have pipe bending equipment, I just thought the Delkevic headers would save me time for a reasonable price.

Heres one I did for my avatar bike

Thanks for posting them Tomb, I wonder if you can change oil filter with pipes on?

With the Delkevic headers or the ones I made?

The Delkevic appear to fit the pipes either side of the oil filter.

On my home made headers, I made No.2 pipe a slightly looser fit in the collector so two head clamp nuts removed and it will easily slide out of the exhaust leaving the rest attached to the bike. Not as good as being able to leave the exhaust alone with oil filter clearance, but I think the headers look better when all together but that's just me.

Replacing the pipe I use clear silicon sealant to stop annoying rattling of the pipe in the collector. I also use it to seal the pipes in the head, and no I didn't believe it would work when I first got told.
