I was just wondering if their is a recommended replacement for the standard head lamp ears while retaining the standard headlamp. Unfortunately my headlamp ears need considerable restoration work (new indicator stalks...the po sawed them off :-\), which will delay my build and I’m eager not to lose momentum.
They don’t need to be pretty, just functional.

Sorry, yes of course. 550 1977 F2.
-
Sorry Oddjob. I meant replacement non standard items.
-
How badly are they sawn off? could the ears be cleaned up and some bolt on indicator stems be fitted in place, hiding the fact the originals are missing?
-
I intend to repair them with new tube and rechrome, but that will take time I’m afraid.
-
Theres tons of aftermarket options, avoid the cheaper chrome plates type from busters or m&p, better ones have anti vibration rubber mounts built in. The cheap ones keep coming loose and rattle around resulting in the need to keep adjusting the headlight if riding at night.
-
Thanks Matt. That’s the problem...too many to chose from :-\. Was hoping somebody on the forum had a successful recommendation.

Will do, cheers.

Cheers Oddjob.
Bought and will report.

Mmmmm. Might want to think twice before ordering these. Even with the “35mm” spacers fitted and clamped up hard they are free to rotate. And one of the camps won’t pinch up as the drilling’s are too shallow. I can see A trip down to the plumbers for some pvc down pipe and yet another bodge solution.

Some moto guzzi could look good there are in 35 mm

Cheers Murdock. Actually got two items from DS last week. One brand new at an eye watering cost shipped from the states and a second one described as slightly rusty. Unfortunately this one was also cracked (easy to miss to be fair) and the new one has a nasty chip in the chrome right on my eyeline. Unfortunately I’ll be returning both and resorting to my original plan.
I’ll repair them myself: de-rust, chrome strip and then try to find a caroming service at a reasonable price.
