Hi guys, managed to get out today and put around 100 miles on the bike but I cant say im gelling well with the clutch, seems slow to engage and noticed some slip a couple of times. New clutch and heavy duty springs were fitted over the winter, pushrod looked ok. any suggestions :o

Cable possibly sticky or needs 're routing?
-
Talking of cable routing, is there a diagram anywhere for the CB750K2-6?

Thanks for replies, i'll have another look.

Not sure what 'heavy duty' means, but I wouldn't fit stiffer springs A good advice (learned from Hondaman) is to neglect what the CB500 Owner's Manual says about adjusting the free play at the lever. Hondaman suggests to have minimal play at the lever because when the engine is hot, play will increase anyway. I have good results with his advice. It's very important the cable has the right routing but - I'm sorry - at this moment I have forgotten if the cable goes through the hole in the frame where the coils sit or just below the frame tube. It's pretty critical. Even the somewhat bigger coils that I have, make a difference and maybe I decided to have the cable going below the tube. Sorry can't remember right now, Will have a look at it.

Delta, my 71 K0 has all original cables (am in touch with original US owner and just a few thousand miles). Cable routes through frame, over coils.

Just started putting my crf250 back together so have been neglecting the 500, over the last couple of days, will check the cable route tomorrow. Thanks again for the replies guys.

What a coincidence, I’ve just fitted a new clutch cable to my K2 this afternoon. I’ve ran it under the frame, but looking at the above picture I might rerun it through the coil hole if there is space beside the Boyer Brandsen electronic box.

Yep, you're right. Here's mine. The Dynas are just a bit higher than stock and that bit is interfering somewhat. It's that critical!
