Does my lower shock mounting look normal in the pic below?
I have compared it with pics online and mine looks way different, looks like I have an extra bracket that moves the mounting point backwards.

Aftermarket setbacks for us shorties. Also done was to let the front stanchions up through the top yoke a little. Had some for. a Z650 for about 3 weeks. Think they may still be in the shed if anybody wants them.
Just remove them and move the shock forward.

i have handlebar setbacks in the shed too. the perfect match for the above!

So I can just remove them and bolt the shock straight to the swing arm?
-
Looks like the front has been lowered slightly as well:
-
yes, just bolts straight on, or should anyway

I wonder if these brackets are the reason I nearly snap my spine every time I try to put her on the center stand?
-
Just removed them bike must sit easily 3 inches higher.
And its so much easier to get it on the center stand.

Seem similar to some of the lowering kits today for monoshock linkages, they make longer "dog bones" to drop the rear of the bike.
As you say, they're a pig to get on centre stand as you've more or less got to lift up the whole rear of the bike. You can almost feel your spine discs popping.
Then the side stand's too long so they blow over in the wind when on that one. :)
