CB350/400 / Splitting the crankcase and oil filter screen

Dear All, another question for the brains trust please. I've completely stripped my project 400/4 and the frame, tank and side covers are off for painting. I'm in the process off doing the mechanicals and there are a couple of road blocks if anyone can help.
Firstly , how does one remove the screen and funnel for the oil pump. How to remove it is not covered in the Clymer manual. (Quite frankly the Clymer manual is a waste of time, is the Haynes manual any better).
Secondly, I'm trying to split the crankcase to check the bearings, gear meshing, etc. All the bolts have been removed and the two halves are moving but they won't come apart. It has something to do with the cam chain tensioner but I can't see what and the manual is useless.

Hi Guys
Can someone please help with a couple of photos. I'm well under way with a 400/4 resto and have hit another minor snag. The numbnuts that had the bike before did a single seat conversion for cheaper rego, which was the normal in queensland in the 90's. Could some kind person please post a couple of photos of the left and right rear foot peg mounts so that I can get my welding guy to fabricate new brackets.

CB350/400 / CB400F Camshaft Bearings

Hi Guys, can anyone help please. I'm in the process of restoring a 400/4 and have hit a snag. One of the camshaft bearings is badly pitted as is the corresponding cam section. The service manual says to replace the head, and I assume the camshaft.
Has anyone ever successfully replaced the cam shaft bearings or is it really the death of an otherwise healthy head?
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.

HI Guys, fantastic to find such a great forum site. I'm in the process of doing a full restoration on a '76 400/4. It was my first bike in the early 80's and had been through a few owners after I sold it. (what a numbnuts I was to sell it) I managed to track it down and buy it. Can't wait to get it back on the road.
