I know what you mean Lobo,it was a bit of a shock to the pocket, but I know its been taken right down, and
rebuilt all the way up.It needed a rebore,so its now on the 1st oversize .50mm.The guy doing the rebuild only
replaced things that needed to be replaced,if you had seen what condition I had taken the engine and carbs in
to the engine builder, and to what he has done to it,its quite amazing.Well pleased though!

Bryanj,Hi,I found out this week the black engine is a F1 1976,and not as I thought,I was under the impression it was a 1978,now been totally rebuilt,on first oversize.I was pleased with finding that out as I had bought the engine on its own from D&K breakers in Leek,Staffs. So this engine would have been running roundtop carbs as
standard.Well Chuffed!

Just in case someone notices,or asks the question, the No1 choke plate is missing, the guy doing the rebuild
got in touch with me about this,I then stripped a N01 carb off of another bank  of carbs, and sent him the choke plate and lifter arm to complete the carb rebuild, all sorted. Not picked up the engine and carbs yet
but I think the pics speak for themselves.

Does anyone have the info on 'Steve Lambley' of Shrewsbury,'engine building',as I'm only around 20-25 miles
from Shrewsbury.I have just had an engine rebuilt by another firm and boy was it expensive, not quite finished yet,
I was bowled over on what costs are involved.I will post more about this when I actually get the engine back home,
the build did include some outside services, blasting, painting, polishing, plus full carb rebuild, even though I supplied the 4 carb rebuild kits. :o ouch.

Sounds like a right bunch of cowboys, never heard of them myself, but when a firm takes £300 from your hard
earned dosh, and cant even be bothered to let you know whats going on,they should'nt be trading.Have the pipes
turned up yet?

Its a great 'buzz' shopping around for 'old vintage parts' but as you gain more knowledge of what you
want,it all the better.I would love to get hold of a 'Denvers Chopper' but these are very, very rare, and
very expensive, but I am happy enough with what I have,as Amen Savior stuff is pretty rare too.A lot
of it is near on 40 years old as is the original cb 750 are in their own right.

Hi Matthewmosse,
I'm near Market Drayton,so 14 miles from the welsh border, depending which route you take.
With the chops I will be building, they will both be 1970's,using all the older stuff as seen in 'Streetchopper' magazine, from the 'Amen Savior'plunger frames, springer forks, etc, etc. If you read my previous post most of the information is in there,I dont get a great deal of freetime, but I'll do what I can,
but I also have a very good friend who's an all round good engineer, tig welder, and machinist, and I also
have a great set of friends in the US,which is a very good source of old chopper parts, also US Ebay is
good for getting parts, and also craigslist.

Hi Pete, yes I have a chop on the road but its not a honda, but I've always liked the honda cb 750 sohc,
from way back in 1973 while I was on holiday in Austria,a couple of lads had one each, one in the gold
colour, and the other in blue.I said I'd get one of them someday, but I have diverted down the chopper route, the old american streetchoppers of the seventies with the amen savior plunger frames, springer
forks,king and queen seats,4 into 2 turnout pipes,santee electrics boxes,and I also have a Russ Collins
ARD magneto, which I will be fitting to one of the two choppers I will be building, both choppers will be
running the amen savior frames, one I got over here, the other came from the states, both have got amen
savior oil tanks, both have 'period' coffin/prism style tanks, and both will be running original cb 750 drum
rear brakes, and t500 twin leading shoe front drum brakes.I am just amassing parts at present, both frames are being worked on at the moment, one's pretty good, the one from the US,but the one from over here has had to have some tubing replaced.

Your only 15 miles away from me,how much for a carb ultrasonic clean for a 750 rack of carbs?
