CB350/400 / Re: Swing Arm Insertion
« on: October 03, 2020, 06:49:23 PM »
How thick is the powder coating?, when I was doing mine it should be a sung fit but not too hard to install. Remember that when torqued up it will pull together tight. If I remember when I did my bike I filed all the coating off and greased the cups and frame.

Sorry should have said I have 750, but should be same method

I brought an imported bike from DK and to be true fully honest it’s better than they said, engine was not locked up, most original parts still there, just the silly looking king and queen seat being the only non-original part, comfortable yes, but not my taste even the delivery to highlands was reasonable. But yes they start the bikes with carb cleaner?, but I would do a top end check anyway for my own sanity. If you see something you like then go for it, but stick to a budget, as there are many more they have.

Good luck

What is it? / Re: More info on exhaust ALFA ?
« on: September 27, 2020, 05:00:32 PM »
We’re they British made?, I will pull out the baffle and give it a clean. Once the bike is up and running will give it a try. Can’t say I heard it, as when I brought the bike it only coughed and splurted. But hopefully soon it will be running. What do you think it’s worth?, just needs a good clean and polish.

Hello, had this hanging in my garage for a few years, it’s in good condition and came off my 750k7, looks like a yoshimura type but has ALFA named on it. Anyone know any history of this system or if it’s correct. Have all the down pipes also. It’s a well put together system by the looks of it. Any info?

All, received my new shiny loom today as made by Alan, amazing work. It’s these small independent craftsman we have to keep going in work, so if your looking to invest in many years of keeping you bike on the road and need a new loom go to Alan, you won’t be disappointed Top work.
Thanks

Try these guys at wezmoto, they can make up anything you need and lengths, I had them make up a set when I did super bike conversion on my VTR. Top quality and were cheaper than others. Just give them a bell or email them. Link below

CB750 / Wiring schematic in colour for k7, is there a copy I can down load
« on: September 23, 2020, 11:18:02 AM »
Hello all, it’s been a while since I was last on here and also working on my CB750K7 uk model due to work and family life. But now I am going to finish my project off over the next few months, nearly there with it but just wiring to do and a few odd jobs to complete hopefully. What I am looking for is a colour wiring diagram of the k7 to help me put it together since it’s been a while and have mislaid a lot of paperwork I had. Should turn up at some point, but I am going to start this week end with wiring. I have new loom ordered with Alan, new handle bar switches coming which may need work or clean up. Does anyone make up hondamans fuse box here?, if not will contact him direct for one. There will be a few bits and bobs I am missing but with help with the community on here I am sure I will get up to speed to finish this bike. Anyway thanks for listening.

Hello, And welcome build your self a bike table and ramp out of 4x2 and plywood with anchor points to ie it down, instead of kneeling on the ground. Believe me it makes things a lot easier for building the engine and bike up. And enjoy, it takes time and patience working on the bike, but above all enjoy the time with your spannering.

Seats fitted and took the bike out for a spin. Have also had a fiddle with and synced the carbs

I think it looks great and is just what I wanted. Bikes running alright still a little stumble at 3.5k but I’ve got another needle clip position to try in the future. The front sprocket oil seal is now doing its job since tapping it into place but will keep an eye on it, just getting some drips from one of thof oil hoses which I’ll look at getting repaired when I change the oil.

Since replacing the washers on the fuel tap with dowty style ones as recommended by Bryan I’m not getting any more leakage through the petcock, I am however still getting overflowing carb bowls when the fuel tap is left on, just dribbles out. Have tested the brass overflow pipes for cracks and they’re all good, have swapped the replacement float valves with oem ones but still no joy. Pushing the floats up by hand stops the flow of fuel when the bowls are off

That is a great looking bike you should be proud of, been away a lot myself and need to complete mine, been on the back burner now for nearly 2 years, just the wiring, fuel system to redo, poss a new tank as mine as the pin hole syndrome and needs re-stripped. This has given me the jump start again to do mine. Thanks for sharing your build.

Any development on progress?. Your saying you like the Carpys exhaust, have a look at cyclexchange based in hazel hurst USA, has some great parts and namely exhausts. Looks like you have chain ring missing from rear sprocket. Looks a very clean bike to start with and should be easy to work on. Did the engine run?.
