Good to hear everyone's experiences.
Oh, FYI, the tent is a Vango Tempest. Officially rated as a 2 man tent!
But it does pack up nice n small.

So who says you need a modern adventure bike to go camping....
When a 'traditional tool' still does a perfectly good job!

Hoe quickly do you need it mate, I have the original loose leaf "Blue Book" Honda one but haven't scanned it yet. If its just certain bits you need that could be quicker. Also got parts microfiche but isn't copyable unless you know somebody with the special copier

I have found a near-complete pdf manual download with a link from a guy at VJMC.
That should cover me for most jobs.
Thanks for your offer.  I'll be in touch if i have any specific questions.
Cheers

Does anyone know of a source for a Honda Workshop / Service Manual (or PDF download file) for CBX550F2?

Optimate half-dried my battery too. Doesnt hold full charge any more.
Still, was going to treat me to a new batt in Spring anyway.

Hi,
Depending on how far afield you want to look or travel, but I used "Dennis" near Cirencester Glos.
Dennis's Motorcycle Resprays,  Tel:    01285 658645  ;  Unit 11 Village Farm, Preston, Cirencester, Gloucestershire, GL7 5PR
http://www.yell.com/biz/dennis-s-motorcycle-resprays-cirencester-3445/

[I don't think Dennis '"does the internet", just telephone or in-person visits]

I had my 'K3' tank painted black with standard pin-stripes hand painted by him instead of using decals (was far better than decals too).

See Service Bulletin #8.
Shows the addition of the 'cotter-pin' type retainers to prevent the rocker shafts rotating (on later rmodels)
Yes the four holes you show in your rocker cover photo are for four flanged retaining bolts, to attache to the cylinderhead;
later models as per the service bulletin introduce four more holes for the rockershaft retainers.
You do need to have bolts in your four holes on your rocker cover.

A shame the won't sell individual pipes, just complete sets.

- A shame, when all I need is No4 (RH/upper) :(

Really interesting reading about 'which master cylinder' (I've been considering the same conversion for my 550K3.)

But I also have another question.
What is the solution for the speedo drive with the additional brake disk??
do you have to machine the original to fit? or is there a speedo drive off a different model that fits the twin disk mod?

As a 550k3 kinda guy,
I'd say he'd run much cooler with a 4-into-4 exhaust! ~$*!^??  ::)
