Thanksto all who replied and offered advice and suggestions. I have replaced the Stator and Regulator  and all is now fine  and charging is back to normal. I sourced the parts on E bay from Zoom Zoom in US and their service was excellent and the price good.

Thanks Guys. I have been advised to do away with the connectors and solder the wires in position. What do you think?

I am trying to help an elderly neighbour get his cyclemotor going again. It is a Bernardi  engine that bolts onto bicycle driving the back wheel. It was not pulling so he asked me as I have bikes to have a look at it. I found the two piston rings broken and Have been looking for 2 or for a piston and rings. The Piston Dia is 34mm. The Engine is a BERNARDI made in Italy European Patent 82830113 5.
I would appreciate any help in locating parts. I would like to get the Old Boy Mobile again as I miss seeing him potter around on it. You were likely to see him anywhere on it

But honda agents say I must buy the loom expensive, The connector is an 8.25 connector anyone know where I can get one.
