Hi The bike is a CB550k3 which was imported from the US. So it was built to their standards, on the circuit diagram in the haynes manual it does show a turn signal buzzer, but I haven't actually seen it (not that i've looked) on the bike.

Hi
Now got the carbs fitted (thanks for the help) I have fitted the airbox and the battery. I have tried turning the electrics on for the first time, all seems ok except the indicators. Moving the switch to either left or right just gives me a loud screeching noise, the bulbs don't light and I can't hear the relay at all.
Anyone ever seen this, I haven't had a chance to fault find on it yet but I guess either the relay is shot or there is a short?

Hi I'm trying to refit my carbs on my K3, I have fitted the air box to the back of the carbs, however I am finding it extremely difficult to get the carbs onto the inlet port stubs, is there a good lubricant I can put on the stubs or on the inside of the rubbers that won't damage the carbs?
Anyone got any good advice on this one?
Many thanks Dave

Hi
My front brake piston appears to be seized in place, the caliper etc is off the bike and I have tried filling the caliper recess around the piston with wd40 but I cannot get the piston to move. Does anyone have any advice on how to free the piston so that I can clean it an replace the seals etc.
Thanks Dave

Hi
Thanks to those people who replied to my previous post about stuck throttle slides. I have now got them freed and cleaned, and I am now rebuilding the carbs but I have a small problem, on two of the carbs the pilot jet plain washer and rubber seal are stuck in their housing, how can I get them out, and does anyone know where I can get a couple of new washers?
Thanks Dave

Hi
I have just bought a CB550K3 which I am restoring, I have taken the carburetors off as a block of four because the throttles slides are stuck in position. I have taken the carb caps off and taken out the 4 screws that connects the throttle arms in each carb to the throttle shaft.
Carb 1 & 4 throttle slides seem to move freely but 2 & 3 are stuck, I have also taken the float bowls off and removed the emulsion tubes, there is a lot of hardened petrol residue in the bowl and around the floats and jets.
What is the best way to clean this residue off and what is the best way to free the throttle slides in carbs 2 & 3.
many thanks Dave
