CB750 / Alternator harness
« on: January 06, 2017, 11:37:33 AM »
have tried to refurbish mine which is the original alternator wire harness, however the wires are brittle and have split where exiting the engine/spoket cover, therefore i have two options one i make my own, have connectors and spade terminals, just need to order wire, or i could purchase one. seen one on CMSNL for €25 plus postage, DSS has them also, but i will need to amend to fit to new loom setup. best to make one?. has anyone done this before and worked out ok?. the only problem i see is the protective sheaf which was rubber over woven, i can't see that anywhere, any clues?. will order parts from either vintage connections or vehicle wire products which i done so previously with good results. also will be fixing choke cable under the frame out of the way of the original fixing point by handle bars, any one make small length of choke cable? or done this previously here.
thanks in advance

Hello all,

Based in Scottish highlands, been a bike owner most of my life, inbetween stages of family life and too many points. Any how's have cb750 k7 or k8, it's a 77 year and uk bike.

Owned for about 18 months, but only working on it for the last 10 months or so. It's was a complete bike when brought but in non-running engine and in standard detail, been slightly refurbished in its life time and change of colour somewhere but rattle can job and touch up on frame. Will post pictures if I can in its current stage and provide more details when time occurs. Tried attaching pic but won't let me from iPad. It's inbetween brat/cafe and bobber like style, engine completely striped and new parts where needed and up grades of valves, guides, ported, seals, bearings and crank reground and bearings., frame chopped and hoop welded in, seat made, drop bars, new loom which is being fitted now, c5 ignition, tank sanded to metal and clear coated. Lots done.
Thanks
