Anyone know of someone who could build and true a new set of rims for me in the Gravesend / Dartford Kent area?
Thanks

Maurice in Maidstone is your best bet .
retired Motorcycle engineer ,does them in his shed in his back garden.
Can supply 3 grades of rims/spokes etc .
I cant find his number at the mo but if you phone Motoliner in Maidstone and ask for his number
i think he is their Uncle

Thanks for that, will give them a go 👍

Having seen your workplace Rich, I am amazed you found the wall, let alone the phone number ;D :-*

Thanks Rich, much appreciated. Maidstone is not far from me.

I Love you too Julie. ::)
Too much work to clean up every week .

Also there is another good bloke, Ex speedway rider Paul Woods in Herne Bay.
-
Yes he is good but a lot more expensive.
Maurice is retired and does it in his shed in his garden.

In the end found this guy, who was excellent and super quick.

Hi, do you know if Maurice is still building wheels and does he supply stainless steel spokes.

I’ve recently rebuilt my ‘750 wheels, but last night stumbled across this Honda page which suggests the spokes torques should be around 2.5 ft lbs. (ballpark half of a standard M6 torque value). In my mixed brain this equates to 3kg or so at the end of my 4” spoke wrench… which in truth is nothing like I’ve been applying. Now having to rethink whether to book-torque before the wheels go back in. Bugger.
On eBay, some beautiful little torque wrenches, though a bit too pricey..
