Title: leaking fuel petcock, 1981 CB650
Post by: jimv50 on December 20, 2015, 06:08:29 PM
After the usual tinkering to fix minor faults, rattling chainguard, poor brakes and the like I found petrol leaking out of the bottom of the petcock after a test run.
I searched online for details and it looks like I may have the wrong one fitted, does this one look like the right one?
If anyone can point us in the right direction of a replacement petcock or service kit I would be very grateful.

Update on my fuel petcock problem.
See photo for the gaping hole in the bowl that was eventually found.
As some of you may know already, a replacement 19mm thread petcock is difficult and expensive to find.
However a chinese made 17mm threaded copy one just happens to have the same size bowl albeit being slightly shallower in depth.
Old damaged bowl removed, replacement one with a single turn of PTFE tape fitted, and all well so far.
Original bowl can be repaired with metal paste sometime and then refitted.
