I was fortunate to buy a surplus set of Refurbished Carbs for my 1974 CB750K4 from a Forum Member and after a bit of too-ing and fro-ing I sold the old set to the Dutch Refurbisher - Gerben van der Meer, so that he can breathe some life into them and they can live again.
The Refurbished Carbs are excellent, and I can thoroughly recommend Gerbens work, as well as his integrity......rare assets in the mind of a cynical old git like me.
As I had to do a bit of detective work to contact Gerben, I thought I should post this information to help other Forum Members.

Well - sit down first - the refurbed carbs cost £380 which is what the Forum Member spent including P & P/ Insurance etc.
My old carbs got me £75 as Gerben had to replace a few parts which he doesn't usually have to cos they had suffered from old fuel/ gunge which had eaten some alloy parts away.
I was quoted £40 to £70 P & P to send my old carbs to Holland but Parcel2go did it for £25.
I am happy with the deal as I now have a reliable set which should prove trouble free....and if you check out the time, trouble and costs of finding, replacing and replating a load of fiddly bits, well worth the money.

Just to clarify a few points that Alan (MCTID) made about Gerben's rebuilds. I am the forum member that sold the carbs on to Alan.
Gerben sells refurbished carb sets for the 750K on eBay for about £260 ( eBay name: gerben1956 (http://myworld.ebay.co.uk/gerben1956/)). These carbs are not a full refurbishment. The way Gerben works is that he fully strips the carbs and everything is polished and re-plated. The internals are only cleaned and refitted, replacing anything not right with mainly used parts. This is probably perfectly fine most of the time, but I was looking for the full job.
The carbs I had done at a total cost of £380 (including buying the carbs themselves and postage), were fully refurbished. All the internals were replaced with 4 Keyster kits (that I sent to Gerben) and all parts totally polished. They came back looking like jewellery and well worth the cost.
The reason I sold them on was that Alan is rebuilding a K4 and these were K4 carbs. I was intending buying a K series but that has now been overtaken with many other projects.
I would definitely recommend Gerbens work. Here's a couple of photo's of the carbs that don't really do justice to them, and one of Alan's engine that the carbs are going on that I rebuilt earlier this year. If you put the two together they are going to look really nice and should run like a new bike (hopefully). ;D

Nice work Roy. I rebuilt my own K4 carbs 6/7 years ago with 'Keyster' kits. The only issue I had was the main jet size had to be 105 for the K4. The ones supplied with the kits where 120, would not run right until I changed the main jets to 105.
I'm sure your supplier has fitted 105's

The Keyster kits I got are supplied with 110 main jets and 40 idles, which are correct for the K4 or any CB750 engine from number 2200001, so you may be running slightly lean there Alan. No doubt someone will have another opinion on this but I'm pretty sure I am correct. Cheers.

If you can get hold of the Mark Paris (Hondaman) My CB750 Book, image attached.
Page IV-8 will give you all the information on the set up. 110 main jets had been used on the late K2's, but he is very clear on the 105 mainjet, clip set mid position for the K3,K4,K5 as correct design set up.
As previous post I tried 120 mainjets with no joy, did what Mark recommended. The bike runs well and the spark plug colour is good.

Had a look at Honda's official manual and it says "K3 is 110.......K4 is 110 & 105......K5 is 105" I guess they must have changed to 105 during the K4 production run so heaven knows what's correct, they could have waited for a model change. Also don't forget these are all USA models, and they are sometimes jetted differently to UK models. They like things lean over there for California.
These carbs are fitted with 110 with the needle on middle. The good thing is these jets are easy (ish) to change in position so will give the 110's a go and see what happens. Can always drop to 105's later.

I've been through several US K4 bikes and 90% have 105 mains. That said, I've also used the 110 mains that come with the CI kit and the bike has been setup and run perfectly with either. I always use the middle needle clip position.
