Title: Met Trigger & Julie Yesterday
Post by: AshimotoK0 on July 09, 2016, 07:51:58 AM
Great to meet the famous 'Trigger' :D and Julie yesterday. Thanks for your hospitality and advice! Great little setup you have there and an un-spoilt part of Lincolnshire, that, shamefully,  I have never visited before, even though it's only 50 miles from me.

Always good  to meet members face-to-face and have a natter. Don't worry everyone .....Julie had 'misplaced' her rolling pin that she threatened me with, in a previous post !!  ;D ;D ;D

I was lucky enough to meet them both at Sammy Millers last year,

and they are a lovely couple,Trigger has helped me out with parts several times, and Julie has a great sense of humour and makes me smile,

all the more reason for organising a get together like last years Sammy Miller,

I agree 100% on the meet -up.  It's good to have a few jars, a chat and put names to faces.  I enjoyed meeting up with Trigger, Nurse J, Green 1 John and a few others.
How about a rideout / camping at the DSS museum?

agrees ,but would prefer B&B,for Mike and I it would be over 200 miles each way,I fore see ride to Leiston area on saturday,BBQ at
  local pub/camping area,
museum on the sunday, meal and a few jars sunday ,ride home monday,
if anyone knows the area, and any pub that would fit the description,

dates to be agreeded, also ,confirmation DSS is open on sundays, dare we ask for group rates?even FOC,as most of our bikes have several hundreds pounds of DSS goodies on them.

ideas ???

thanks Mike, but this is 1001,reminds me of some sort of cleaner -)))))

I live quite near to DSS (around 40 miles away) and visit regularly. In terms of accommodation, I recommend Breckland Lodge (on the A11 at Attleborough, around two miles north of Snetterton). This hotel is usually modestly priced (except when events such as BSB are on), has a good number of rooms and ample facilities to eat. It is widely used by the BMW Club and other motorcycling organisations for gatherings.

If there is any interest in visiting other local attractions, Krazy Horse Customs are within 25 miles and are agents for Norton, MV, Victory, Indian and Morgan cars. Rideouts from as far afield as the Midlands come to them. They have a restaurant styled similarly to the "Ace Café" and I believe licensed by them, which I and a good few others try to visit weekly. There are also campsites that will accept groups of motorcyclists, however they are normally situated on the coast. I am friendly with a farmer who rides a BMW S1000 RR though and he might permit use of his land, as he sometimes has for the BMW Club, although this is not near to Breckland Lodge and facilities would be very limited.

If it helps, I am more than happy to do some research, although I will be riding in Wales from tomorrow for a week, so it will have to wait until after that!

John, I've high hopes for Wales. Scotland and France have already delivered good trips this year! We are staying at "Radnor Revivals" as usual.

If you (or A.N. Other) would like to let me know number of rooms wanted, preferred dates etc. I will take a trip out to Breckland Lodge and perhaps a couple of other potential venues for accommodation and meals and then report back.

update,

just rang DSS ,and the museum is not open sundays, and only open till 3pm on saturdays,

as for timing the visit,as july /august is major holiday season,I would think camping and B&B would be at top rates, and difficult to find,

 comments please ?

Thanks for finding out opening times John. Maybe we should wait until early September when the hoards of tourists have gone back home.
