Well you have to love Italian bikes I stopped using it a few years ago because the carbs poped off.If you thought they were a bastard on a Honda try fitting them to a Peg.After stripping it down and reasembling everything It started overheat and the rad fan stopped working. As it was getting close to the red I turned the ignition key to find the bike now doesn't switch off and just keeps running.By this point the garage was rappidly filling with toxic fumes and my eye stinging like crazy.Thank god the kill switch stopped it.So I bled the rad and changed the rad switch the Fan still doesn't work unless I bridge the connection and it still overheats. Now I have discovered it has a crazy amount of oil pressure.I only noticed that because when I decidded to change the oil and the sump plug came out with a massive bang and the bike sprayed oil everywhere :o there is now an oil stain as big as a fiat 500 on the garage floor and front of the 750.
Does anyone know whats causing the high oil pressure?
Ignition switch not turning off but only when the engines running?
Rad staying cold at the bottom?
Mick

I don't know the answer to any if those problems but, that is one of the funniest posts I have read in a long time 😃😃😃😃 Oh yes, cold rad at the bottom means air in system,so bleed it xx
-
I don't know why you did not put that bike in as PX for the 550 and give someone else the problem ;D ;D ;D
-
It's a bike I can't part with I got when I was 18 and the only big bike I could have at the time because my mum wouldn't let me have a ZXR400.It's like family constantly disapoints but your stuck with it for life. ;D
I have bled the rad over and over I think it may be blocked.

Just had a thought. Julie, you must with all your time in hospitals know a half decent shrink that could help this guy, I mean, he says you have to love shitalian bikes??? Say that too often he'll get sectioned anyway! ;) ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

I thought he had been sectioned Hairy and was out on weekend leave 😃😃😃.

I wish I can't find anyone to put up with me.

On that point of not being able to switch it off, I once test drove a 944 on a blazing hot July day, getting into the car it was like a furnace (black car), I drove off and found the heater was stuck full on, tried to open the windows they didn't work, tried the sunroof, it didn't work, stopped went to open the door and the door pull snapped!, Jesus I've never been so hot in my life!, eventually I crawled out of the passenger door, I didn't buy it 😄
PS Hairygit I believe your are the one with mental health issues given your irrational hatred of Italian bikes which are in fact glorious machines! 😜

Presumably a blocked case vent...
-
Well it turns out the bike has been off the road for four years but its back and running perfect :) :)
Not only did the carbs pop off but there was a tiny coolant pipe between the header pipes that was blocked solid
I had to strip the bike to a rolling frame to get to it but its done now.Thank god so fingers crossed I get a full year out of the bike before it plays up again. ::)

Just an update running well I'v now covered about 80 miles and only lost about a pint of oil.Its not gone to far though its mostly on my boot and front tyre.Oh and burnt a hole in the wiring loom.
So not to bad a day really :)
-
Sounds like fun Mick, at least you got 80 miles out of it :) Which I am very surprised you got more than 8 ;D
-
I'm as suprised as you last time it was on the road I only covered around 50miles before it stopped and I declared it SORN thinking it was going to be termanal.
-
It's Italian, so it is terminal ;D ;D

Mick, for the love of god, take it apart and mend it!, Trigger and Hairygit are going to have a bloody field day if it blows up! 😱
-
Just been having a nose around the bike it turns out a pipe has poped off as its gone a bit hard and the hose clip doesn't squash it anymore.
-
So a hose clip is 25p, the bikes a write off then (only saying it before Trigger does) xx
-
There as much as that I better reuse the old hose then.
