Got my Ducati Scrambler today, over the moon with it, Ducati have got this bike absolutely right terrific fun (apart from the uncomfortable seat but I'm changing that soon, very soon!), if you've got a local Ducati dealer get yourself a test ride (especially you Hairygit, it might cure you 😄).

Very nice :D. Needs a tail tidy though.
-
Yes , I think I'll make my own, Ducati want £84 for what's basically a pressed aluminium bracket!
-
I know what you mean. I've bought 3 over the last few years. Eighty odd quid for something that must cost a couple of pounds to produce.
-
Nice bike Mark when do I get a go ;)
£84 at least its Ali I would like a hugger on the guzzi but I'm not parting with £95 for a bit of blow moulded plastic. :o
Mick
-
You'd be welcome to take it for a spin Mick but Derby is a bit of a haul😄, I recently paid £92 for a second hand plastic rear seat cowl for my SS, but they are made of unobtanium and it had 12 bidders on eBay so I figured it will always re sell for that amount or more, you've probably got a similar riding experience with your pegaso but think taughter, more torque, honestly book a test ride but be prepared to part with 7k shortly afterwards!😄
-
Looks really good Mark, although with that tire pattern and all the pipes on the right hand side it looks more American flat tracker to me. Can imagine that sliding on opposite lock around a 1/2 mile oval flat out.
Was talking with a friend about how nice the air cooled Ducati are and he's just found an original spec M900 monster from 1993 that has low miles and not been messed about with. I've previously ridden one and was trying to describe it to him but he just can't believe how much fun it is.
-
Yes until you've ridden a Duke you don't realise what your missing, I didn't , I think it's down to a few things, lightness 900ss 180 kilos, 803 scrambler 170 kilos (dry weights), low centre of gravity (only the vertical cylinder reaches above the bikes centreline), loads of torque, high BHP is fine but it's only achieved at high revs, how often do we use high revs?, low down torque is useable all the time, good geometry, even my 25 year old SS has pin sharp handling, character, hard to define but there's something about that "duff, duff, duff" sound you get from the engine, along with a few pops and bangs on run down, they sort of feel alive!😄, someone described them as feeling "as though someone had removed all friction from the motor", that's true, the seem sort of "eager to go", like an exited puppy!, but whatever it is I totally agree, terrific FUN!, I'm a convert, does it show? 😄
PS yes definitely more flat tracker looking, there are videos on YouTube of people taking them off-road , not for me, I couldn't afford the repair bills!😳

Quick video of me on mi new bike, apologies for the pipe smoking and for talking German, it always happens when I'm out for a ride :-/

Talented aren't you!
You know pipe smoking is a health risk. Perhaps Rossi should nip down to the tobaconist?
-
Scrambler ? can't see that getting across a wet field, never mind a muddy one ;D
-
nothing wrong with German or pipe smoking but he really should learn to ride properly without putting his knee out!

agrees, that style looks terrible ,only for "posers"
-
Actually it's best to ride with both knees permanently out as far as they'll go, then your ready for right and left handers without changing position, admittedly it makes filtering a bit painful .
PS Trigger, I'll answer your negative comment later 😄.
-
Lots of heavy thinking through things has been done with the aid of a pipe, along with some serious pacing up and down.
Think Mrdavo may need a pipe over on that other thread to sort that lot out.

Here you go Trigger, a scrambler crossing a wet field :), skip to 1 minute 20 seconds to avoid a lot of BS about drinking coffee and stuff like that, now admittedly my pipe does appears to have fallen from my mouth :), apologies for the end of the film showing me and my girlfriend going for a meal etc.
(PS don't tell my wife).

Broke today's ride at my favourite pub today, the landlord is a petrol head, he's got this Hungarian Csepel in the foyer, wants 2k but I know he'll take less , I'm tempted, I think it's a stunner what do you think? , 125cc

When I was an Apprentice.........a colleague at work bought a similar second hand red E Type convertible for £695.00.
Mind you.....that was in 1968 ish.
If only we'd known..........
-
Yes a mate of mine bought one in the late 70's for 2k and sold it in the classic car boom in the 90's for 70k, nice if you can time it right!.
-
Seem to recall you are Derby way...? Therefore intrigued as to where the petrol head's pub is, as I am quite near and does not look familiar?
-
Its the Blue bell at Farnah Green, not far from Belper, he has a classic car meet ever second Tuesday in the summer that's worth going to.
Very good food as well, not exactly cheap but great meals. Where are you based ?
-
Know it well from my early days. Pretty up market establishment last time I visited..... yes would imagine a nice ride out on a sunny evening.
Grew up in Duffield just down the road. Now live near Alfreton.
-
Yes, there are a few moneyed types in there, it shows on the classic car nights when 1930's Rollers and 1960's Ferraris appear rather than the usual Moggie minors and Austin 1100's :), good bunch though.
-
Here's a nice bonus of the new un, you get your own parking space at Starbucks (hell of a battle getting over that grass though trigger 😄)

Indubitably

It's just my vernacular ;)

I'm wondering how it got on the grass without leaving tyre marks and with no grass marks on the wheels. It begs the question ; how many men carried it and placed it there?

It must be very light :)
What I can say is I could get my VFR there but it would slowly sink in...

Simple , I rode it through the coffee shop and "bunny hopped" it over the barrier.
-
Ah yes, elementary.

Just seen this on you tube thought you may like it cr mark https://youtu.be/rwtWRc5ikMs

Well they certainly found the bikes and their own limitations 😀, think I might emigrate, imagine having that as your back garden!
