Hi.
Anyone know if any 550s would have left the factory with 500 stamped exhausts? Mine has them and just been looking at photos of another 550 which also does.
Cheers

Should have 323 stamped on early 550K pipes me thinks ;)

I'll have another looķ when the bike comes out of storage. All I can remember is they are stamped CB500 and a part number
-
Although I'm not 100% sure, I seem to remember that when the first and original set of exhausts was still om my CB500K2-ED (this model was assembled in 1976) they were stamped 374. This may sound strange, but not when you realise that in the same year the CB550K2s were assembled that had the same pipes...

I thought ---374--- pipes (with the paragraph of stampings) were still stamped 323 at the front in the normal stamp position.

From what I can gather original 323 pipes for the 500 did not have all the verbiage rolled into the steel on the inner side but when the yanks went ape about emissions which roughly coincided with the 550K0, the number changed to 374 as the 550 model number and the verbiage was added whilst everything else stayed the same
-
Now I'm really confused!

They all say 500 on the exhaust but the ones with all the verbiage on the back are officially 550

Thank you!
