Hi all, been a long time since I posted on here, I've just got around to my 400 4s again.
So I've just finished overhauling a set of carbs and was just getting around to doing an initial bench set up when i looked down the head side of the bores. 2 of them have got a curve to the bottom of the slides and 2 havn't. What's going on?
Answers on a post card please?

Of the barrels? Left sitting on side stand with 2 spark plugs not done up properly, water has got in and caused a water mark.
Or, if it's the carbs, 2 slides are in the wrong way round,(edit....not possible, thinking about it more) or wrong slides fitted.
Edit.....again......I see now, definitely carbs not bores 🙄🙄🙄
Have 2 dropped down so far, you can't see the half moons?
Sorry about the above, been out on the bike all day, I didn't realize how knackered I was 😄😄😄

Clunk, the penny is beginning to drop. I see from the parts book they are handed. There are 2 of each. When i took them apart it was clear someone in the past had had them apart then roughly assembled them. They've just mixed them up i think
I should be able to swap to get them the same. But which way round, cutouts to the head or cutouts to the air filter?
