Title: Tarnishing header pipe
Post by: Athame57 on August 22, 2018, 10:12:26 PM
I just had my CB400F2 serviced and now I've noticed one of the inside downtubes/Header pipes is showing signs of tarnishing a bit, the others not....your thoughts?

Are they original double skinned or after market single skinned ?

I don't know. The silencer isn't original though...

If they are single skinned replicas they tarnish easily anyway but, if what you are saying is that the down pipe wasn't tarnished before you had the bike serviced but, it is tarnished now, then that needs exploring as it may be a sign that one cylinder is running very, very hot.
