I would like to fit electronic ign to my K4, have not long fitted new coils and leads, so dont want to have to change those if poss, is there any suppliers in this country, any suggestions or advice would be most welcome. Regards ianmck.

i bought a set of boyer bransdon last year but i ain't got round to fitting them yet i know you don't need too upgrade your coils or leads, they sell for about

It's generally accepted that the best modern electronic ignition is the Dyna S as it replaces the points but keeps the coils and leads. It's also reliable (unlike the 70's - I had a Piranha on my 500/4 and carried the points in the toolkit for if/when it broke down...)
Speak to Jeff Saunders at www.z1enterprises.com as he is a CB750 fan and does great deals (even at the present exchange rate!).

I Have Dyna S on my 400 and would recommend this system it all fits under the points cover, got it from the US and it works out about the same price as buying a system from the UK. New coils are not needed but I got those anyway.

Ernie Bransden was a lecturer at the Bromley College of Technology.As far as I can make out he approached
Stan Shenton at Boyers of Bromley and asked for there help to finance the project to develop an ignition system for the sort of bikes of the day ie.Kwacker and Triumph triples that Boyer sold.The shop was pretty local in South London and was a hive of activity when I bought my system.When I had a hiccup with the kit I was told that the majority of times it was a connector problem,and this was the reason for my problem.
I had the Boyer Bransden pointless setup on my 750F2 back in the early '80s and had no problems with the Andrews coils and leads on the bike.The advance/retard unit was replaced as was the backplate,
connected directly into the wiring loom in the normal way and was easy to setup the timing from the instructions.
I also had points assisted ignition from BB.This was fitted to my black/green 550F1 when I bought it 2nd hand and removed the arcing problems that come as standard with the OEM .But I did have problems when using pattern points as the OEM points are much better quality.
I ended up putting the BB points assisted system onto the blue 550F2 together with the OEM points when I sold my black/green 550F1.
