Title: Source of quality top end gasket kit for CB550F in Europe

Just tried fixing a top end oil leak in my CB550F with a gasket kit from eBay. It still leaks oil though, which makes me believe that the gasket kit was not very good. Can anyone recommend a supplier of high quality gasket kits in Europe? Thank you!

Post by: alexdecker on July 27, 2021, 09:38:11 AM: I ended up using a Vesrah complete kit for the 550F, and that solved all my problems. Must've been a faulty kit or faulty installation with the old kit :)

Post by: Bryanj on July 27, 2021, 09:58:17 AM: ALL newer gasket kits need thicker O rings at the oil feed through head gasket as the new asbestos free head gaskets are thicker, also a common leak is where the brackets the cam cover end caps bolt to are held to the head, there is supposed to be a soft alloy washer between bracket and head

Yeah so me Vesrah kit didn't hold up for long before the leak returned. Do you know of any kit that has thicker O-rings, taking the thicker head gaskets into account?

Post by: deltarider on August 20, 2021, 07:26:06 AM: Decades ago a Dutch Honda mechanic, specialized in old CBs told me he used Kawasaki O-rings for this that are slightly thicker. I don't know which however.
