Title: Red paint on control switches
Post by: AshimotoK0 on February 11, 2010, 08:33:47 PM
Posted this on the US site: Any ideas?

"This is probably one for my UK buddies but here goes. I need to paint the 'Red' on controls of my '69 750K0. looked at my 400/4 ones which were NOS and they are an orangey-red so got a good match, I hope, with 'Humbrol' Gloss Fire Orange (shade no. 209). Question is, are the 750K0 ones the same colour?"

Just glad my right hand one with the black kill switch is very restorable. One went on Ebay NOS for 240GBP this week!!!!!

I'm pretty sure that they are orange, as I found out after I had painted mine red ! Used Humbrol H21 on the switches and H19 on the lettering.

Somebody needs a steady hand for that bit of painting...reminds me of painting bits & pieces on my Airfix kits many years ago.
Nice finish on that switch housing....

Got me bang to rights there, I am a scale modeller, the air brush comes in handy for the smaller parts, and working with plastic all the time also helps !
