Title: Speedo dogs
Post by: oldchuffer on November 19, 2021, 03:09:19 PM
This may a stupid question but i'm confused. In my "box of bits" rebuild i do have a front wheel, i need the brake disc and bolts and also a speedo drive, i just cant see how it would work as i cant see any "cut outs" for the speedo dogs to engage into (see pic). How does it work? or have i even got the wrong wheel, the manuals dont make it clear.

That doesn't look like a 500 hub,

It should have 6 holes for the disc.

Thats cos its a 400 hub,
Disc goes one side, speedo drive the other with a chromed plate over that has two raised bits over the drive plate legs and 4 bolts all way through

Pm sent back to you Allan.  I'm still unsure how the speedo drive meshes in with the wheel to get the innards to turn.
