I've hacmd a search to try and save you all having to repeat yourselves but I can't find the answer to how I set 15° after tdc.
-
I am confused by your question as it's headed cam chain tension - do you mean checking the valve timing?

If you turn just past TDC and turn until you line up the little pillar that the spring hooks over ;)

Thanks Trigger, that was what I'd seen on an American YouTube video but wasn't sure to trust it

No tha chain, doesn't it need to be adjusted when at 15° past tdc

As in the picture. The red straw is representing the TDC mark .

I learn something new most days - if I understand the reply you adjust the cam chain statically in one particular position 15 deg past TDC.

Thats the later Honda way which sometimes works, i still use the tension on kickstart way
-
Could never do it with the kick start when i was building shed loads of engines as, they arrived with out a kick start. I would always line it up ;)
-
Oh so what is the kick-start method then?
-
I believe you put hand pressure on the kickstart then release the adjuster then tighten it up whilst holding the tension on the chain via the kickstart that takes up the slack on the drive side of the chain.
-
If it works it sounds a little easier
-
It worked well on my 400.

Best done with a helper.
