Title: Missing stays
Post by: Athame57 on August 27, 2023, 09:31:39 PM
The hook shaped harness stay below the steering head (arrowed in image) is missing on my bike and given that I can't find it on CMSL diagrams I guess it isn't a separate part but a thing that was welded to the frame from the start as is the much smaller one a bit further back, the latter snapped off by my own hand (ham-fistedness ::) )
I'm now considering having replacements cut and welded on, but is it worth the trouble? Opinions?

It bolts on.

Thanks for this Deano, I didn't spot on their diagram. I see it isn't available, must try Steve at 400Four bits or wait my chance.

Just make one. A small sheet of 1mm alloy and cut to shape, cover the end in self adhesive shrink wrap.

I may do that for the small stay. Meanwhile it turns out that gold mine for extinct bits called 400Four bits has one, so I've ordered it!  ;D
