Who saw this?
I only watched it because it was on between the cricket and the TT.
He is restoring a K3.
-
I flicked in and out a bit so didn't get a great feel for it. I thought he was watching whilst his mates did the restoring!
Any 'bikes on TV is good TV, but I was struggling with the 'celeb doing his CBT' feature. Not very exciting....

As you say, any bike show is good.
I quite like his style of presenting and his choice of bike, but to any of us who have owned one of these (I've owned three), his K3 ended up with the wrong front mudguard, wrong shocks and a Motad. Oh, and his tank painter put the tank badges in the wrong place.
Also,

I watched the show and was very glad that he restored a CB550 but I actually didn't like the bloke presenting it very much.

i am no expert but at least i am giving it a go
hardest thing i have seen him do is make tea
nice collection though over in isle of man in that old fellas shop

As you say anything on bikes on TV is a blessing.
Didn't like the way that restorer used sandblaster for the crankcases though - how the hell do you remove all traces of grit afterwards.
What did you think of the frame after blasting. I have a 250 frame I was going to junk as it had a corroded through hole but they just welded it up. Perhaps I am being too fussy. I missed the beginning of the programme. Did he buy the bike or was it one he originally had and stored away?
cheers

when i got mine sandblasted the guys actually went over most of the joints again and rewelded it anyway
think there were 2 little holes which they filled as a matter of course before powercoat
i only saw last half hour of tonights show... nice to see some of the older bikes on tv

But be advised you can't get out of watching the adverts even if you use the arrow to go over them!!

The 550 looked very like one a mate of mine sold on ebay last year, and the chequebook resto I saw started (was on in the background whilst I read a bike mag) was the epitamy of the side of classics that I'm not all that keen on, just chopping the splokes out of the wheels (I've rebuilt and reused wheels with worse bits only having to rebuild to reline the rear hub) and farming all the work out - it would be cheaper to just buy a better example in the first place. Presenter wasn't great but a few interesting features. could do with a bit of fun or humour as watching celebs having a laugh gets dull rather quick.

Who is Henry Cole? What a knob... "This...is a spanner.I'm not sure what it does...but I think that it might be useful." Yeah...really technical.
And what about the way that he loaded that CB550K3 onto that trailer...
I didn't bother to watch anymore.

Caught it on thr ITV player after my brother asked me if I was watching it. It's OK, bit annoyed with the spend money no problem resto, when the bike looked OK before they started, but that's TV.
Henry Cole? 30 years an adventure motorcycle rider? Never heard of him. http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0170567/ (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0170567/)
Put Guy Martin in charge of it and I would die laughing!
-
Some great programmes to his credit....I was just surprised his career hadn't featured an appearance in 'The Royal'
Shame the IMDb doesn't add up how many minutes he actually spent on the TV...a bit like Top Trumps....."Total 'acting' time" - 7mins30secs.
On the Guy Martin thing though, anyone see the TT post-race interview where he burst out a comment along the lines.."do you know what a spatchcock is....I thought it was to do with strip clubs...."
