Hello can anyone tell me the best stuff to spray on my 400-f coils and ht leads to keep the rain out thanks digger :-[

I cured mine by sealing where the HT leads come out of the coils (look under the tank when it's wet and you will see the arcing) using Araldite, but these days probably bathroom sealant would be better.

Clear bathroom sealant. I don't think they do it in black! (don't use white...)
In the 70's we used RTV (Room Temp Vulcanising) rubber compound but modern sealants will be much better.

If the HT leads are original it would be a good idea to replace them.

WD40 always worked for me

And me, I take the tank off and spray all round the coils + leads, this normally lasts a year, I do it every year before going abroad on the bike. Last year a mate I was riding with had big problems with wet leads with it dying altogether at one point, once we reached the German rally we took the tank off and sprayed all round the coils and it never missed a beat for the rest of the trip even in torrential downpours.
